The demonstration instance
OTB runs a public demonstration of Works so that you can look at the product before you install it. This page says what the demonstration is, because it is not how an instance of your own runs.
What a visitor gets
Section titled “What a visitor gets”- One shared instance, run by OTB. It is not a copy of your programme and holds no customer data.
- A workstream of your own. Each verified visitor is given their own workstream with example work in it, and a login that reaches that workstream. It is yours alone: nobody else, including a colleague at the same company, is placed in it or shown it.
- A short life. A visitor’s workstream is reset to its starting state every 24 hours, and access ends after a week.
- No contact details shown to others. Another visitor’s name and address are not shown to you, and yours are not shown to them. Everyone sees the example names.
- No outbound email to the example people. The example people in the demonstration have no address, so notifications and invitation links are not sent to them.
How this differs from your instance
Section titled “How this differs from your instance”| The demonstration | An instance you run | |
|---|---|---|
| Who runs it | OTB | You |
| Who is on it | Many visitors, each with a workstream of their own | Your people, on your programme |
| Data | Example data, reset daily | Yours, kept on your data volume |
An instance you run behaves as this guide describes everywhere else, and carries no demonstration features.
